'Space Funk' (The Ultimate B-Boy / B-Girl Soundtrack)

Over the years so many B-Boys and B-Girls have told me how much they enjoy dancing when I'm DJing, how they feel different, how they flow better. There's a simple reason for this: mathematics! I spent hours upon hours studying and breaking down music tempo as it relates to breakin. Drilling top rock, drops, footwork patterns and everything in between, all whilst staying locked in to the groove. I would repeat these drills over and over again, sometimes for 2-3 minutes at a time. I would experiment with a whole different range of tempos to find what felt comfortable and natural. These exercises taught me not only how hard it was to actually stay in the groove at over 125bpm, but also how to break up my movements so I could still be dynamic and fast whilst flowing on beat to lower tempos.

There's a fairly common misconception within some people on the scene that faster music brings more energy. This may be true if the people who are performing aren't actually staying on beat, just hitting beats, but, to the experienced and knowledgable B-Boy or B-Girl it has the opposite effect. They have to rush everything and are constantly falling out of rhythm because it's not possible to keep up with the tempo of the music.

'Space Funk' has been designed specifically & scientifically to give more freedom of expression, more freedom of movement and more enjoyment by using a mix of tempos (none of which are TOO FAST!).
